Resultado de imagem para break from social media

9 months after my last post, I'm here. I can't come up with a real reason to why I was away, I guess life has been changing a lot and my priorities are others, so this blog had to be on pause.

This post is about how I recently decided I had to take a break from social media. My mental health hasn't been the best, and social media isn't the best place when it comes to show how reality is really like. I realized I found myself comparing myself to others, how their life seemed better, how their bodies were in a better shape, how they were prettier or/and happier.
That's not how I want to live my life. I have to make myself understand that everyone struggles, that everyone is fighting their own demons and they only decide to show the world the good things. And I know that, but my mind wants me to think differently. That I'm the one in the wrong, that I should do better and be better.
So I decided that I need a few days not comparing myself to others. I need to live my life without wondering how this random girl is posting these bikini pics in a tropical place. I need to calm my mind and try to live my life without all of this. So this is why I took a break from Social Media.

I'm writing this letter because I miss talking to you. I don't know if somehow you can read this but I have to believe you do, otherwise there's no point.

Dear mom, I love you. Picture Quotes.I'm sorry I stopped writing. When you passed away writing to you was the only way I could deal with you being gone. I would cry myself to sleep but, somehow, when I was writing to you, I felt like you were right there listening to me and I didn't feel alone anymore. So I'm sorry I stopped. Don't think I forgot you because there's not one day it goes by I don't think about you. I just had to move on another way. I had to force myself to deal with the fact you were gone, I couldn't keep pretending anymore.
Anyway, I just want to let you know that I'm doing ok. Sometimes I wish you were here to help me or to tell me everything will be alright, but I know deep in my heart that if you could you would tell me I could do this myself, that I don't need anyone. That's a lie. I'd always need you.
Your daughter is a grown up now. She found a place of her own, she found a job and she is trying to finally be happy. I hope you know that. I hope you know how hard she's trying to be happy. And how much she hopes you're happy wherever you're.
I promise that I will never forget you. Even though I'm fighting the tears from going down my face because, hell, I miss you so much and I know it will never stop hurting, I'll keep thinking about how great of a mother you were and how much I wish you're proud of me.
I love you, because not even death will keep us apart. You'll live in my heart forever.

    Love,
    Your daughter.

So, at the end of 2017 I told myself I would make this blog work and I'd post every week, I even made a list of ideas for the posts. It seems like I'm not really good at keeping promises to myself so I spent the beggining of the year away for this world. The reason? I actually don't have a real reason for it

I'm still searching for a job and now on the hunt for an house because my boyfriend is finally moving to my city (and obviously we're planning on moving in together). I will probably write a post about the struggle of house hunting but since it's still on going, I'll wait until I can finally give you some real advice!

Since everyone is speaking about the theme "back to school", I thought it was a good idea to tell you about my experience while in College. Some of you may still be in High School, some are going to College and some have finished it already. Either way, I think we all learn something with our experiences and one thing I'm sure everyone agrees is that college teaches you a thing or two about life. This is why I'm here today to tell you about the lessons I've learned in College. In any way the things I went through can coincide with the things you will or went through. We all have different experiences and while some say those are the best years of their life, others were glad it was over. What I'm about to say is my experience on the subject and I'm sure some of you will agree on some points and disagree on others.

…than what happens to your mind after going through the education system. I mean, aside from the cliche about “molding young minds” the education systems set limitations on an infinite amount of knowledge, on an infinite amount of subjects. In short, education systems rob us of the human ambition.
Lets think about this here for a second… Do you know, down to the part names and connections, how the hell you are reading this on a punch of plastic pieces, with lights on the inside (computer)? Someone knows, multiple people know, and they learned it all themselves. Why don’t I know that? Why is xy over 35.7 times 10 to the eight power more important than how to budget or about the composition behind the different types of finches on the Galapagos Islands?
There are so many mind blowing things out there in the world today, and were all stuck here learning how to be obedient, following rules like raise your hand when you want to talk and wait for me to call on you. Well, if I’ve got something to say, you can bet I’ll write it on a poster and show it, with or without your recognition.
Sit down, for hours at a time, take in all of this information that you’ll barely ever touch, fill your brain up with the most simple and monotonous things that can be learned and obey everything I say. I will show you information you won’t care about, and I won’t ask you what you want to know. Just make sure you know this and can replicate it so you can say you’re “Smart.”
Fuuuuccckkk that. Go outside in the middle of the night and look at the stars in the sky, and the planets and moons. Go learn about that! We need to know more about topics like that! Screw this, healthcare for all, you need to be a politician to do anything bullshit.
Do not rely on the education system to be your guide for learning. Find something you love and dive right in to each and every way that sport, animal, problem or moon and figure out how it all works. Be a free thinker, with no guidelines, no requirements of knowledge, and be completely immersed in a field that you make and can call home.
